Schemes and Activities
The Soil Conservation of Directorate of Jharkhand is responsible for undertaking Soil & Water Conservation measures with a view to control all forms of Soil erosion in the state and to enhance irrigation potential of waste land and Rice Fallow area of the state.
The Schemes are :-
- Waste land Development Programme 2009-10.
- Improved Irrigation System under Rastriya Kirishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) 2009-10.
- Waste Land & Rice Fallow Development Progrmme 2010-11.
- 2nd Green Revaluation under Rastriya Kirishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) 2010-11.
- Integrated Watershed Management Progrmme (IWMP).
After implementation of all these standardized schemes, great success have been ade in controlling different kinds of soil erosion and improvement in irrational potential in the state.
The Directorate of Soil Conservation has already implemented centrally sponsored scheme viz
- MMA (90:10)
- River Valley Project & Flood Prone Rivers(RVP & FPR)
- Pilot Project on National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA).
It maybe mentioned that works were being taken up in the catchments of Sone & Ajay river on priority basis as recommended by the Govt. of India.
All the projects includes different kind of Soil erosion control measure and a livelihood spport under the Watershed area.
